Psychiatric morbility in the hospitalized patients in medicine and surgery

ABSTRACT

Introduction. Of late years the psychiatry of liaison and interconsultation has experienced a qualitative jump: The general hospital worldwide, the coexistence of a link between the medical disease has been recognized completely and the psychiatric. Methods. A study sold off observacional, side road itself and of descriptive reach where they checked the case histories of 189 patients hospitalized in the Surgical area of internal medicine and surgery of Medical Investigaciones's Center that they demanded inter-consultation of psychiatry during the period of February 2017 to February 2019 for the sake of knowing the psychiatric morbility more frequent in these patients. Results. It was noticed that they requested more psychiatric inter-consultation for patients of the female sex (53,44 %) as compared with the masculine sex (46,56 %). The elderly range, were between 60 and 79 years (62,42 %). As to the marital status, was requested the (51,33 % ) you did not have couple and the ( 44,91 % ) they had pre-university student's level of scholarship. What else the motive is used to request the inter-consultation to the studied population's psychiatry it is depression (24,86 % ). The organic diagnoses more frequent were hypertension (11,64 %), diabetes mellitus (11,11 % ) and the cerebral vascular accidents (11,11 %). Conclusions. The patients what else demanded psychiatric attention the hospitalized went by the rooms of medicine (60,84 %) in relation to the requests accomplished by surgery (39,16 %), in the meantime than the psychiatric diagnosis more frequent the upset was depressive adaptation (31,21 %).
