Multiple intelligences in students of differential education of the Central University of Chile

ABSTRACT

The aims of the present study were to determine the psychometrics properties of Multiple Intelligences Development Assessment Scales (MIDAS) in students of differential education and compare the level of development of the above mentioned intelligences. One worked with a sample of type not probabilistic, which was constituted by 186 students of differential education of the Central University of Chile. The results show suitable values of validity and reliability of every sub-scale of MIDAS. On the other hand, were not observed variations of the development of every intelligence between 4 years of career evaluated. On having compared between the intelligences, is observed that the musical, cinestésica, mathematical and spatial they present similar developments, while, the linguistics, interpersonal and intrapersonal were possessing top values. Finally, one recommends extending the sample of study to corroborate the psychometrics properties of MIDAS in this population and to realize a longitudinal study to know really if the multiple intelligences are kept constant in the different years of professional training.
