ABSTRACTReproduction assisted techniques have had an exponential growth not only by the development of new treatments and diagnostic techniques but also equipment and culture media have adapted to this procedures and have a main part in its success. The development of the Intracytoplasmic sperm injection technique by Palermo et al (1993) made a great impact in reproductive techniques. Due to different IVF techniques, the laboratory divides in 4 main areas: Andrology, genetics, criopreservation and IVF. There are more and more advances in technology, which helps to make better diagnoses and individualized treatment.
