ABSTRACT

Hemangiopericytoma is a neoplasm derived from mesenchymal cells that surround the capillaries of blood vessels. It is present in anatomical sites and various clinical scenarios; it is quite rare, with a peak incidence in the sixth decade of life. Diagnosis and timely treatment improve survival and long-term prognosis. We present the case of a 51-year-old male patient with a large tumor of 7 years evolution, located in the sacrococcygeal region, who underwent resection with reconstruction at the same surgical time obtaining an aesthetic and satisfactory functional result.
