ABSTRACT

Objective: To automate the work with decision tables for grading mid-term and final exams in the medical sciences profiles according to the enacted instruction 3/2015 of the Vice Ministry of Cuban Public Health and the instruction 1/209 of the Ministry of Superior Education dealing with spelling mistakes in the university studies.
Methods: An initial analysis was done taking into account the characteristics of the comprehensive assessments according to the methodology for questions 3, 5 and 7 respectively. Data files were created through the free professional statistic software (PSPP), developing an algorithm to answer the problem, and taking into consideration the facilities of its programming language.
Results: The algorithm was successfully tested in the 1st semester of the course 2018-219 at ¨Dr. Salvador Allende¨ Medical Faculty during the exam of the subject matter Cell, Tissue and Tegument and during the second semester in the midterm and final exams of Biostatistics.
Conclusions: This proposal could be used by all professors, no matter the subject, of the different faculties of medicine along the country. It guarantees a fair and correct evaluation to each student without manual errors due to the complexity of the multiple possible combinations.
