The pedagogical workshops: An interdisciplinary alternative for the development of communicative competence in non-Spanish-speaking students

ABSTRACT

Objective: contribute to the language training of non-Spanish-speaking students in the development of communicative competence in Spanish language from an interdisciplinary approach through pedagogical workshops.
Methods: we used videos, guides for research and ICT, the materialist dialectical method, as well as the methods of the theoretical level and the empirical level.
Results: verified the development of students’ linguistic abilities such as: knowing how to listen, communicating ideas, arguing and establishing relationships between their knowledge and new knowledge. It stimulated reflection and debate. Contributed to the development of communicative competence and cooperative learning. 60% of teachers applied it with signif icant results.
Conclusions: the use of pedagogical workshops in the teaching process - learning the Spanish language promoted the development of communicative competence in students, socialization, cooperation and the exchange of ideas and opinions.
