ABSTRACT

Hematogenous osteomyelitis is very common in the metaphysis of long bones in childhood; involvement of other sites is less common. Affection of the talus is very rare, having been reported in only a few cases in the international literature. We report here a case of hematogenous osteomyelitis of the talus in an 8 year-old patient, who was treated with surgical debridement and antibiotics, with good results. We also do a review of the literature and suggested treatment.
