ABSTRACT

Background: Kaposi’s sarcoma is a neoplasm of lymphatic endothelial cells. There are four main epidemiological forms: classical, endemic or African, iatrogenic or associated to immunosuppression and epidemic or related to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Clinic case: A 28-year-old male presented with disseminated dermatosis characterized by erythematous and violaceous nodules of 0.5 to 2.0 cm in diameter. After the histological examination, the diagnosis of HIV-associated Kaposi’s sarcoma was confirmed, starting the chemotherapy cycle.
Conclusions: In Kaposi’s sarcoma associated to HIV oral lesions in palate and gums are more frequent, such as the reported case; dysphagia is its first manifestation.
