ABSTRACT

Objective: To analyze how family celebrations and celebrations affect certain cardiovascular risk factors in our type2 diabetic patients and study their degree of control. Material and method: Longitudinal descriptive study carried out in a Health Center of our Region. From a population of 950 type2 diabetic patients belonging to 6 medical quotas, all those who attended the consultation on December 11, 2018 (n = 38) were selected and recorded: age, sex, size, blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, blood pressure, Weight, size and waist circumference. Those who refused to participate were excluded. Later we will call you by telephone on February 5, 2019 to repeat the same determinations. No type of intervention was added. Results: The mean age ± standard deviation was 63 ± 7.45 years. The mean values ± standard deviation obtained before and after Christmas were: glycosylated hemoglobin 6.73 ± 0.58% before and 6.93 ± 0.51% after, initial glycemia 137.42 ± 41.64 mg / dl and later 147.80 ± 42.12 mg / dl, blood pressure before 154.76 / 78.27 ± 13.5 / 10.33 mm Hg and then 150.22 / 81.92 ± 14.18 / 7.43 mm of Hg, weight of 81.6 ± 12.53 to 82.84 ± 11.9 Kg and the waist circumference went from 107.58 ± 11.72 cm to 109.32 ± 11.02 cm. Conclusions: Family celebrations and celebrations represent a tendency to worsening of the cardiovascular risk factors studied: glycemic profile, blood pressure, BMI and waist circumference. Our type2 diabetic patients have an acceptable control of their glycosylated hemoglobin but not of blood pressure as the systolic is superior to that recommended by the guidelines.
