ABSTRACT

Heel injuries caused by motorcycle rim rays represent a health problem in countries where this means of transport predominates, such as the countries of the Asian continent and the Dominican Republic, where 54.6% of the vehicular body is represented by the motorcycle. Although there is legislation that limits the age and number of passengers on motorcycles, ankle injuries represent one of the most common assisted in emergencies. We present seven pediatric cases treated in 2019, which we classified according to Zhu's parameters and in which various surgical techniques were used, achieving full coverage in all cases.
