Adverse reactions due to double viral vaccine (measles/rubella) in university students from Minatitlan, Mexico

ABSTRACT

Aim. To report the adverse reactions associated to a double viral vaccine (DVV) measles/rubella.
Material and methods. A survey was done in 261 infirmary students, which were vaccinated 15 days before with DVV.
Results. One hundred and eighty one (69.3%) had at least a single reaction, but most of them were related to the place of the injection; 17 (6.5%) had rash, 36 (13.8%) fever, 31 (11.9%) rhinitis and 21 (8.0%) cough.
Conclusions. It is recommended that before the vaccination the population most be informated about the adverse reaction.
