ABSTRACT

Ozone therapy is considered a complementary therapy that uses ozone as a therapeutic agent. It is a procedure that has proven to be effective in different pathologies in which very encouraging results have been obtained. It has special importance in infectious diseases and immunological conditions. Faced with the worldwide situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which today takes on an alarming magnitude as a health problem in the world, it was decided to make this communication, based on the knowledge that ozone therapy, according to the pathophysiology of the damage caused by this process can be useful as a complementary therapy. This work aims to identify the mechanisms of action of ozone and the justification for its use in infection by the new coronavirus SARSCoV- 2 based on scientific evidence, which is why it is concluded with the development of a treatment protocol well differentiated according to the classification of the clinical stage and severity of the patient, as well as its correspondence with the routes of administration.
