Prevalencia de ansiedad y depresión y su relación con vejiga hiperactiva

RESUMEN

Antecedentes: el síndrome de vejiga hiperactiva (VHA) se define según la Sociedad Internacional de Continencia como la urgencia, frecuencia y nocturia, con o sin incontinencia urinaria de urgencia (IUU), en ausencia de infección del tracto urinario. En México se reportó una prevalencia de VHA en un 19 %. Estos síntomas urinarios pueden generar trastornos afectivos, en Estados Unidos existe una prevalencia de ansiedad y depresión en pacientes con VHA del 16.9 %
Objetivo: determinar la prevalencia de ansiedad y depresión y su relación con vejiga hiperactiva.
Material y métodos: estudio prolectivo, transversal, analítico, en un centro de tercer nivel. Del uno de Agosto al 30 de Septiembre de 2024. Tipo de muestreo consecutivo. Se incluyeron 95 pacientes mujeres, mayores de edad con VHA. Se utilizaron cuestionarios validados en español International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder (ICIQ-OAB) y Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). Base de datos Excel 2016. Asociación con exacta de Fischer, SPSS v25®.
Resultados: el grupo de 70-79 años se presentó en un 31.6 %. Los síntomas más frecuentes de VHA fueron la urgencia y la IUU en “algunas veces” con 50.5 % y 47.4 %. Del total de pacientes, 10.5 % presentó depresión y 17.9 %, ansiedad. No se encontró asociacion significativa entre los síntomas de VHA y trastornos afectivos
Conclusiones: la depresión y la ansiedad son prevalentes en mujeres con VHA. Se requieren estudios con mayor tamaño muestral y grupo control para corroborar las asociaciones entre los síntomas de VHA con trastornos afectivos.
