Leiomioma vascular en labio. Revisión de la literatura y presentación de un caso

RESUMEN

Los leiomiomas son neoplasias benignas derivadas de músculo liso, frecuentes en ciertas partes del cuerpo pero muy raros en cavidad bucal. Se pueden dividir en 3 subtipos: leiomioma sólido, leiomioma vascular y leiomioma epitelioide. Se presentan principalmente entre la 5ª y 6ª década de vida, sin predilección por género o raza. Su localización más frecuente es el labio, aunque pueden encontrarse en otros sitios incluso intraóseos.
Clínicamente se presentan como masas pequeñas (1 a 2 cm), de base sésil, asintomáticas, de crecimiento lento y consistencia firme. El tratamiento de elección es la escisión, presentando una tasa muy baja de recurrencia y un pronóstico excelente. Presentamos el caso de un masculino de 13 años con una lesión en labio la cual fue diagnosticada como leiomioma vascular.
