RESUMEN

Presentamos el caso de una paciente con lupus eritematoso discoide activo en el que se observa en sangre periférica el fenómeno de células LE. Las células LE son polimorfonucleares que contienen en su citoplasma ADN fagocitado, mediante un proceso dependiente de auto-anticuerpos. Su hallazgo apoya el diagnóstico de lupus eritematoso sistémico. En este trabajo se revisa el caso de una paciente que presentó este fenómeno.
