Schwannomas cervicales

RESUMEN
Los schwannomas son tumores encapsulados y benignos que generalmente
aparecen como masa laterocervical asintomática de lento
crecimiento. En este artículo comunicamos cuatro casos de masas
laterocervicales, diagnosticadas en términos anatomopatológicos como
schwannomas, pertenecientes a distintas localizaciones nerviosas: XI par
craneal, X par craneal, simpático cervical y plexo cervical superficial.
Son lesiones de diagnóstico preoperatorio difícil, cuyo tratamiento de
elección es la exéresis quirúrgica; en ocasiones es difícil conservar el
nervio de origen.
