Comportamiento de pacientes ancianos sometidos a cirugía de urgencia bajo anestesia regional y general

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio de tipo analítico correlacional de carácter retrospectivo acerca del comportamiento de las complicaciones postoperatorias del paciente anciano sometido a cirugía mayor de urgencia con anestesia general y regional en el Hospital ¨Dr. Agostinho Neto¨ de Guantánamo en el período enero de 2012 a diciembre de 2014. La muestra fue de 56 pacientes. Las variables analizadas fueron: edad, sexo, comorbilidad, tipo de enfermedad, métodos anestésicos, estabilidad hemodinámica y recuperación postoperatoria. Hubo prevalencia del sexo femenino y edades de 70 a 79 años. Predominó la hipertensión arterial seguida de cardiopatía. Se encontró complicaciones en el postoperatorio, entre las que estuvieron: arritmia, hipotermia, insuficiencia renal, neumonía y tromboembolismo pulmonar, en ese orden. La recuperación anestésica fue considerada buena por la mayoría de los pacientes: 32 pacientes con anestesia regional y, 7, con anestesia general. Se aportaron conclusiones y recomendaciones.
