RESUMEN

Se reporta el caso de una recién nacida con el síndrome de varicela fetal cuya madre padeció varicela a la semana 16 de gestación. La infección por el virus varicela zoster en la niña y en la madre, se confirmó con el método de ELISA para anticuerpos del virus de la varicela. La niña falleció a la edad de 94 días.
