ABSTRACT

Introduction Education in the knowledge of disturbing phenomena in society allows organizing management units to assess risks through technical knowledge and skills that improve results in attention to disturbing phenomena.
Objective Evaluate the effectiveness of an institutional educational intervention of knowledge of the university system of comprehensive risk management
Material and Methods: An observational, cross-sectional, prospective, comparative study was carried out in students of the 3rd semester of the medical degree. The educational intervention was carried out to improve knowledge regarding self-protection measures from disturbing phenomena in society for reduction, forecasting and control of disaster risks. The statistical analysis with descriptive statistics, the data was analyzed in the statistical package SPSS version 24,
Results The age of the students is 21.32 ±2.09 years of age. The sex of the female students: 45 (50%) and male 45 (50%). The destructive effects of disturbing agent or calamity in very good in 30 (33.3%) (p‹0.0274). Conduct to develop in a property during an earthquake was good 33 (36.7%) (p‹0.0362). The satisfaction of the students by the intervention the thematic content very good 25 (27.8%) (p‹0.05). Very good Pedagogical Methodology 30 (33.3%) (p‹0.0510). and teachers 24 (26.7%) (p‹0.021).
Conclusions: Knowledge of civil protection regulations and disturbing phenomena in society leads the student to carry out actions in self-care and care of the population.
