ABSTRACT

Teratomas are tumours with different tissues from one or more embrionary layers. Histologically they could be classificated as mature, no mature, monodermic or very specialized teratomas. The most common localization is ovary (83.2%). Moreover 11% of patients present with acute abdominal pain secondary to torsion or rupture, only 16% of cases have specific ultrasonographic features. We present a case of 27 years old woman with acute abdominal pain caused by an ovarian mature teratoma.
