ABSTRACT

One of the most important theories of Systemic Family Therapy with an intergenerational orientation is Bowen's Differentiation. This theory emphasizes the importance of the person's emotional dependence on their emotional bonding environment such as the family. Couple relationships are one of the most frequent cases in clinical practice. A study was carried out where a quantitative instrument of emotional dependence was proposed. When carrying out the Confirmatory Factor Analysis, the best option was the development of an instrument to evaluate differentiation within the couple. The importance of a quantitative instrument for the evaluation of Differentiation is emphasized.
