ABSTRACT

The perihepatic ligaments are support elements of the liver gland that form potential spaces, allowing the direct spread of inflammation or malignant diseases. The falciform ligament of the liver is a fibrous remnant of the umbilical vein. Between its layers contains the obliterated umbilical vein called the ligament of Teres, accompanied by small paraumbilical veins. Knowledge of ligaments' normal and pathological appearance is necessary to diagnose the spread of pathological processes along them.
