ABSTRACT

An emblem or logo is a graphic design that represents a brand's corporate image and visual identity. It is strictly defined as the typographic design, that is, the design of the institution's name itself. The logo has specific, regulated dimensions, colors, shapes, and arrangements of the institution's name. Its importance lies in the fact that it becomes a visual, rapid, and almost immediate way of imprinting the corporate image in the public's memory. This article reviews the historical aspects of the emblem of the Mexican Academy of Pediatrics and offers recommendations for its use.
