ABSTRACT
Syncope is a transient loss of consciousness and postural tone frequently seen in pediatric emergencies. Most are of reflex origin, with a good prognosis, but those of cardiogenic origin, although less common, carry a risk of sudden death and require a precise approach. This article presents a clinical case of vasovagal syncope, complemented by a didactic review that details the systematic diagnostic approach to correctly classify these events, differentiating benign causes from those that require specialized intervention.
