ABSTRACT
Intestinal malrotation is a deviation from the regular 270° counterclockwise rotation of the midgut around the axis of the superior mesenteric artery during embryological development. It affects 1% of the population and is diagnosed more frequently in the neonatal period and incidentally in adults, with an incidence of 0.2%. Surgical intervention with the Ladd procedure is necessary when it is symptomatic. A case of malrotation in adults is presented.
