ABSTRACT
In this second installment, the review is aimed at presenting the origin of the names of fungi of medical relevance, separating filamentous fungi, yeast fungi and superficial mycoses, briefly highlighting those that owe their name to historical figures, geographical locations, morphological characteristics, among others.
