ABSTRACT
Globe ruptures represent one of the leading causes of monocular blindness worldwide, with an estimated incidence of 3.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. A 72-year-old man presented for evaluation after experiencing blunt ocular trauma from a fall, resulting in corneal dehiscence and protrusion of intraocular structures, requiring emergency surgery to preserve corneal tissue and globe. This report discusses the primary risks associated with globe rupture, as well as the complexity and importance of its management to prevent complications such as endophthalmitis and sympathetic ophthalmia, aiming to achieve the best possible prognosis and quality of life for the patient.REFERENCES
