ABSTRACT

Benign fibrous histiocytoma is a common benign cutaneous tumor encountered in dermatological practice. However, its hemosiderotic variant is rare, predominantly affecting females, with a clinical predilection for the extremities. Histopathologically, it’s characterized by numerous small blood vessels, extravasated erythrocytes, and hemosiderin deposition. Clinically, it can be indistinguishable from melanoma, making additional diagnostic tools crucial for accurate diagnosis. We present the case of a 19-year-old female patient from El Salvador with a 6-month history of a nodular, erythematous- violaceous, ulcerated lesion on the antero-proximal aspect of her right leg.
