ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to present an analysis of the grade exam for dentistry from the viewpoint of how the evaluation of basic competence needed is performed, and if the dentist is qualified at graduation for the population oral care. The meanings of a grade exam and basic competence for dental graduate in relationship with national and international programs are considered. It is concluded that a grade exam should have a certification character were it is implicit the required knowledge for a dentist.
