ABSTRACT
This article proposes a clear diagnostic characterization of the Premature Orofacial Aging Syndrome (POAS) as a distinct clinical entity, associated with changes in facial morphology, functional collapse, and emotional deterioration in affected patients. Based on a critical review of the literature and interdisciplinary clinical experience, therapeutic strategies are outlined, including reconstructive maxillofacial surgery, conventional zygomatic implantology, exteriorized zygomatic implants, personalized juxta-osseous implants, and comprehensive oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation. The article also discusses the public health implications of POAS and the need for its inclusion in diagnostic protocols and comprehensive care programs. This work advocates for a paradigm shift, repositioning total edentulism not merely as a prosthetic condition but as a complex pathological state that is both treatable and preventable through an interdisciplinary approach. Such a shift could significantly impact the consideration of SEOP in public health policy and clinical practice.
