ABSTRACT
We present the case of a 30-year-old woman who underwent
deceased-donor kidney transplantation 6 years before
presenting to her routine nephrology follow-up with fever,
abdominal pain, and chronic diarrhea. We describe the diagnostic
workup, culminating in the detection of Mycobacterium
bovis on tissue culture. She is currently under treatment
(month 9/12), reports no symptoms, has no adverse drug effects,
and maintains preserved graft function. We also review
the literature on intestinal tuberculosis in immunocompromised
patients, highlighting diagnostic challenges and the
importance of coordination between primary, secondary,
and tertiary care.
