ABSTRACT
The frequency of malignant neoplasms in our country shows an increasing trend. Cancer in pediatrics is the second
leading cause of death in children under 15 years of age. Infectious problems in cancer patients represent a serious
issue, frequently linked to mortality. Common, opportunistic, and multidrug-resistant pathogens can cause diarrheal
disease in children with cancer. Furthermore, diarrhea can be caused by the malignant neoplasm itself or as a side
effect of chemotherapy and/or surgery. Timely intervention for diagnosis and the initiation of broad-spectrum antibiotic
therapy are essential for a better prognosis.
