Lipoma of the oral cavity. A case report

ABSTRACT

Lipomas are benign tumors of fat cells, rare in oral cavity. The typical presentation is a painless tumor yellow. They occur most often between 30 and 40 years of age and men are more affected than females, in relation 2.5:1. Histologically, the adipose is identical to the normal fat cells and have a vacuolated clear cytoplasm and rounded, with a core to peripheric rejected. Surgical removal is the treatment of choice. Recurrence is rarely seen.
