ABSTRACT

Background: Acuscopic cholecystectomy is performed with instruments needlescopic under 3 mm in diameter and apply emergency procedures without complications and with the advantage of heaving fewer invasions. Material and methods: Longitudinal, prospective and descriptive study in 105 patients operated on for chronic calculous cholecystitis and acute cholecystectomy through acuscopic cholecystectomy. The variables to consider: sex, age, elective surgery, emergency, conversion, surgical time, use of drainage, hospital stay and complications. Results: There were 105 acuscopic cholecystectomies, 86 women and 19 men, with a 4:1 ratio. In 95 patients underwent to elective and 10 emergency. The age range was 21 to 75 years. Was converted to 3-port laparoscopic surgery in 7 patients. The operative time was 30 to 120 minutes, avering 55 minutes. There were no cases of conversion to open surgery or complications. Average hospital stay of two days. Conclusions: The results we obtained have exceeded expectations in terms of hospitalization and recovery time, postoperative pain, aesthetic appearance and especially a significant decrease in cost, being widely reproducible procedure in hospital units that have laparoscopic equipment.
