ABSTRACT
Introduction: The laparoscopy repair of hernia, have been accepted by great number of surgery groups, who frequently do this kind of surgery. Actually it is considerate by many principal experts like superior to the open surgery technics. Actually the physic characteristics of the prosthesis are the weight, the surface size and the pores are points to considerate in the mesh. The finality to evaluate the autoexpandable mesh realizing a comparative with the results showed in the literature.
Materials and methods: 150 laparoscopic hernioplasty realized in 138 men (92%) and 12 women (8%). The surgery technic used in all the cases were the laparocopic repair with the use of plain mesh in the 124 cases (82%) wich were fixed with taker holdfasts or with endoanchor approximately 4 holdfast and autoexpandable mesh in 26 cases (17.3%).
Results: 10.7% presented complications. Inguinodinia 14% none in the case was reported with autoexpandable mesh; seroma 5.3%, 1 bladder wound case, 1 epigastric artery wound case, 1 repel to the mesh witch was retired and resurgery by an open surgery, and one case of three years recurrence hernia.
Conclusions: The objective of this article is to share our experience with this series of cases where the results have been good for our team and hence to support this kind of acceptance of surgical approach.
