ABSTRACT

In the last 10 years, there have been several papers about embolization of uterine arteries for the hiperpolimenorrhea caused by uterine myomata in several countries of Asia Europe and North America. In this review, we present our experience in the Hospital General de México, in Mexico city, with the embolization of uterine arteries that irrigate those myomas. The results we present here are preliminary because the definitive results are best seen 18 months after the interventional procedure, although we have seen some good response after 15 days after the embolization. We describe the inclusion criteria, the technique we use, and the embolization material used for that porpoise.
