Cystic solid papillary tumor of pancreas or tumor of Frantz-Gruber. Case report

ABSTRACT

Objective: The papillary solid cystic tumor or Frantz-Gruber tumor is a rare neoplasm that must be taken in to consideration for correct diagnosis and convenient treatment of pancreatic tumors.
Case: A 45-year old female with GERD, who was diagnosed with a tumor in the body and tail of the pancreas. A distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy was performed and histopathologic study reported a papillary solid cystic tumor in the pancreas. This pancreatic tumor occurs mainly in women between the second and fourth decades of life. It represents less than 1% of all pancreatic tumors. The surgical resection is the correct treatment for these tumors
