ABSTRACT

This paper aims to reflect on the construction of female subjectivity, through the analysis of the letters sent to the offices of magazines and radio programs for women, as well as the configuration of a monitored and controlled subjectivity in the historical context of the Franco dictatorship, in the sixties and seventies of the twentieth century. The documentary letters of offices enables us to learn through their own voice, the situation of many of these women, confined to their homes by force of repression and held them for continued exercise of control and submission. So we discover their infamous lives, devoid of social brilliance, but also of poor quality. Lives that relate to a coherent and precise speech, through showing, not the contradictions of hegemonic discourse, but how they felt and why. These letters show a bleak picture: the life wore indoors, at the same time show dissenting eyes of many women with the hegemonic patriarchal discourse, presenting marriage and motherhood as the only path to happiness. These letters also represent a gesture of defiance, a first step in breaking the silence imposed and recover the kidnapped voice. Writing, in short, from the subjectivity that not only does not invalidate the speech but allows construction and communication
