ABSTRACT

Introduction. The quality of attention in the services of the area of Critical Medicine of the HCM is a topic of increasing interest, in nursing, particularly in relation with a high index of overcharge of work, for what limited reports exist in the national and international literature at least in this area. Relying on only works of research realized in the Clinic of Specialities of the Woman.
Aims. To determine the statistically significant relation of the syndrome of professional wear with the index of overcharge of work in the personnel of nursing of the area of Critical Medicine.
Method. Study of descriptive, comparative type, correlacional and longitudinal. Carried out by means of the application of instruments of measurement of syndrome of professional wear Maslach, distress, Hamilton for Anxiety and the system inventory of Beliefs - 15 R. The plan of analysis included the description of percentage values and measures of central trend, as well as statistical inferenciales by means of determination chi squared in the groups of comparison.
Results. There were studied 49 subjects (men and women). The presence of the syndrome of professional wear was 40.8 % and the principal factors that influence it is the time of experience in the area, the breaks which one possesses(relies on) for rest, which were minimal and the service where they work, who was UTIA.
Conclusions. In spite of the fact that the percentage of the syndrome of professional wear was low in relation with the sample it is significant, for what it is necessary to take measured and possible solve principally for the managerial personnel and in function with the vacation period and bear in mind the double time of services, since the service where one found the major percentage of professional wear was An Adults’ Intensive Therapy.
