ABSTRACT

The study of the biological cycles of parasites taught in the course of Microbiology and Parasitology in the Faculty of Medicine, UNAM, provides students important information concerning pathophysiological and clinical aspects of the diseases. This will allow them to understand more clearly the diagnostic techniques and the therapeutic protocols to be followed with the patients. This article reviews the biological cycle of the intestinal coccidia and its relationship with the clinical features of the host.
