ABSTRACT

Clinical simulation is a teaching technique in which different medical scenarios are replicated in controlled environments, promoting a realistic and secure environment for practicing. Nowadays, most schools of medicine and health sciences understand the necessity of having simulation equipment. The available resources vary according to: budget, curriculum, etc. Nevertheless, there is no consensus of an operational model for a simulation and skill’s lab. This paper reviews historical concepts and the literature for defining a state of the art. It presents the general criteria that must be considered for the Clinical Simulation Center.
