Darier’s disease. Report of a case

ABSTRACT
We present the case of an 8-year-old patient with Darier’s
disease (Darier-White disease, follicular dyskeratosis);
this is an acantholytic and dyskeratotic genodermatosis.
It usually starts between the first and second decades of
life. It is transmitted in an autosomal dominant form. It is
characterized by hyperkeratotic papules located mainly in
seborrheic regions: front, neck, back, chest, axillary region,
inguinal region and extremities. Its diagnosis is clinical and
histopathological. There is no curative treatment. Systemic
retinoids are the treatment of choice. The psycho-social
consequences are the biggest concern because the skin
lesions are severe and chronic.
