Institutionalize of relative carer into a hospital center

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The social context of late health institutions are the focus of a number of controversies, some controversy due to its importance in the care process, as in the case of the Family Caregiver; it is in the family who often falls on or themselves take the responsibility of providing help to care for your family, so this collaboration because it is they who live day to day clash with institutional life.
Development: This paper presents some considerations on the process of institutionalization of family caregivers in a hospital; also addresses a term that escapes disciplinary definition of "institution"; however, this description is constructed from experiences working within a healthcare institution being in close and continuous contact with family caregivers without losing sight of the implication that subject as part of a social group made up of complex links with the institution.
Conclusions: Health institutions do not always consider the needs of family caregivers and less even contemplated as part of your gear, however, they are an important part of the process of care and always mánager to permeate the standards established by the institutions to be taken into consideration as part of the care of their hospitalized family. Reason, the Family Caregiver lives a complex situation within the institution.
