Development of the oral expression in English by the use of problemic teaching and the new technologies

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the formation of doctors requires a scientific, technical, and humanistic formation, English language training and the use of the new technologies to interact in national and international sceneries.
Objective: to contribute to the development of the oral expression in English in English lessons of the fifth year of Medicine with the use of the new technologies the problemic teaching.
Methods: a pre-experimental study was performed with 40 and 34 students from fifth year of Medicine in Güines at Mayabeque Faculty of Medical Sciences in the courses 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017. Theoretical methods were used such as: historical and logical one, as well as the inductive - deductive method to take the cognitive component of the phenomenon. As empiric methods: the survey to know opinions about this work and a pedagogical test to evaluate the oral expression of the students. As Mathematics statistical method the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies were used.
Results: the survey showed that it was important for the scientific work. Technical vocabulary in English increased. The training of the students on line was very useful, scientific knowledge increased. Their oral expression improved by the advance of the scientific study. The students were very motivated with this work and he results of the evaluation about the oral expression of the students showed the importance of the use of the new technologies and problemic situations.
Conclusions: this system of work using the new technologies and problemic situations contributed to the development of the skill of oral expression in English in fifth year of Medicine.
