ABSTRACT

Introduction: Identifying by means of the precision of renal angiotomography (ATR) in the evaluation of the venous system and anatomical variants in the living donor, it is of importance that it will contribute to the success of the renal implant. Objective: To determine anatomical variants in renal veins of the renal donor under evaluation by angiotomography. Material and methods: Through an observational, prospective, cross-sectional, and single-center study; An image study was carried out by means of color ATR to the patients who came for renal donor study and to observe the presence of variants in the renal veins. The variables were collected: age, sex, comorbidity, kidney with variants, image diagnosis, in the period from December 2018 to September 2019. It was analyzed with means and standard deviation for quantitative variables and for qualitative absolute and relative frequencies; through the statistical package SPSSv24.0. Results: Sixty one patients underwent renal angiotomography, the mean age was 33.9 ± 8.7 years, male sex 35 (57%), in this group of patients no comorbidity was observed, the anatomical variant findings were observed in right kidney of 6 (9.8 %). The most frequent anatomical variants were double parallel renal vein with 4 (6.6%), late confluence in 2 (3.3%), no variants were observed in 49 (80.3%). Conclusion: The most frequent anatomical variants were double parallel renal vein.
