ABSTRACT

Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) is a rare disease, it represents a high risk of developing non-melanoma skin cancer, due to the genetic susceptibility to human papillomavirus infection. Diagnosis is made through clinical, histopathology and molecular tests such as PCR, treatment is not entirely clear, general measures and early detection of malignant lesions are key in the management of this disease.
We report a 15-year-old male with a disseminated dermatosis, characterized by multiple erythematous squamous plaques. Diagnosis of epidermodysplasia verruciform was confirmed by histopathological study and polymerase chain reaction.
