ABSTRACT

When the width does not meet the minimum requirements, the expansion techniques are indispensable for the location of the fixings with prediction. As a general rule, the crestal expansion technique is indicated to increase the width of the alveolar ridge if it is less than 6 mm. Methods: female patient, attended the dentistry clinic of the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla, presenting a defect, seibert, in the area of OD 15, performed in phase 2, full thickness flap, corticotomy with piezoelectric, cortical expansion with osteotomes, implant placement, DFDBA allograft and collagen type 1 membrane. Result: obtained a gain of 5.2mm width of the ridge, considered successful.
