The cultural promotion from the University Extension in the training of health professionals

ABSTRACT

Objective: it is proposed in this work to establish how, through cultural promotion, the students of the Latin American School of Medicine contribute to the integral formation of students.
Methods: the student survey and the initial and final observation were used, which made it possible to identify the needs and potentialities regarding the situation of culture promotion in the process of integral formation of the students of the Latin American School of Medicine.
Results: the university extension from the dialectic of the diverse cultural relations that take place in the university environment and outside the walls, an Integration Strategy was designed in which a system of actions is developed that favor the integral formation of the students and satisfy of Successful way the social demands as demanded by the current world, using as an axis the cultural promotion as a methodology of the university process. For the planning of the activities, the sociocultural diagnosis of the study center was carried out. In the proposal the development of the different subprocesses of the university extension are taken into consideration. The cultural diversity of the students was taken into account for the participation and union of the same from the organizational structure of the institution, the main characteristics of the university community, with the development of various activities that have contributed to the formation integral of the students.
Conclusions: with the Integration Strategy from the cultural promotion as a methodology of the university extension in the ELAM a work directed to the cultural promotion is developed as a fundamental way for integral formation.
