Articulation of the Integral General Stomatologist with the doctor and the nurse of the family

ABSTRACT

Objective: to determine the state of health of the population of 20 families, from the Family Medical Office No. 10 belonging to the Beach Teaching Polyclinic.
Materials and methods: a cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out in the period from September to December 2017, which was achieved through field activities carried out on a population of 71 individuals, 36 females and 35 males grouped in 20 family selected at random and with the participation of a stomatology student. The frequency distribution, the percent-age calculation and the Chi square test were used as a statistical analysis technique.
Results: individual clinical histories were completed in the Stomatology Clinic. Primary Care, exhibits a wide content of dental care, for the close link between oral health, chronic diseases and the quality of life of individuals, showing an inescapable link of the stomatologist with the doctor and the nurse of the family, level of the community, responding to demographic changes and the health situation, which has an accelerated trend towards the aging of the population and the predominance of chronic non-communicable diseases as the main causes of morbidity, with its direct participation in the development and implementation of the community action plan.
Conclusions: stomatological care has a broad content of Primary Health Care, due to the close link between oral health and the quality of life of individuals; There is a close link between the integral general stomatologist and the family doctor and nurse, at the community and clinic level, responding to demographic changes and the health situation, which has an accelerated tendency to the aging of the population and the predominance of chronic noncommunicable diseases as the main causes of morbidity, with their direct and leading participation in the elaboration and execution of the community action plan.
