Proposal of activities with homophones, phonic-graphic inadequacies for communication in Spanish

ABSTRACT

This research consists in the elaboration of activities for working with homophones in Spanish classes with the students of the Preparatory Course of the Latin American School of Medicine, since graphic inadequacies constitute a problem, not only for non-Spanish speakers who learn Spanish as a new language, but also for Spanish speakers, by affecting the achievement of coherence and cohesion of ideas, hierarchy and adequate progress of the information they offer, which causes difficulties in the functional components of the subject . The proposal has as a theoretical and methodological basis the cognitive, communicative and sociocultural approach because it allows the study of language as a whole, by integrating the issues addressed by different branches of linguistics. The objective of this work is to elaborate a proposal of activities that favor the cognitive, communicative and sociocultural competence of the students of the Preparatory Course of the Latin American School of Medicine. Theoretical and empirical methods are used, among which are: the analytical-synthetic, the induction-deduction, the historical-logical and the documentary study. The proposal of activities will allow to raise the level of textual, orthographic, phonological, syntactic and linguistic construction of the students.
